Prophecies of the Antichrist -- Part Fifteen
Scripture interprets scripture. This should be the mantra for all students of the Bible. This way it is not left to one’s own interpretation. We have been studying a person called the beast from the Abyss. It has been deduced that his name is Apollo which appears in Revelation 9:11 as Apollyon which is the Greek spelling. In Hebrew he is named Abaddon. We are told that he is both an angel and that he is the king of those other angels who reside in the Abyss with him at present. The other angels are referred to metaphorically as locusts and scorpions and serpents (Luke 10:19). These spirit men, which we call angels, are to be released in the coming Apocalypse to visit their unimaginable evil on the world. Both Apollyon and Abaddon mean “the Destroyer.”

Prophecies of the Antichrist -- Part Fourteen
As it was, so shall it be. The main happening that occurred back in the days before the flood was the manifestation of these fallen sons of God on this earth. So shall it be again. Revelation 9 provides us with the record of these same gods who reigned back in those days being set free for a season in the coming Apocalypse. We are provided with the name of their leader, the king of the angels of the Bottomless Pit, whom we have identified as none other than Apollo. In Greek mythology, Apollo was the epitome of the beauty of man. He was the god of medicine and of prophecy and of music. His oracle at Delphi in Greece is a marvel of engineering and a popular site for visitors. Indeed there are scores of temples all over Greece, Turkey and elsewhere dedicated to the god, Apollo.

Prophecies of the Antichrist -- Part Thirteen
The word mystery in the Greek literally means “sacred secret.” According to Paul, this mystery had been kept secret since the world began, but was only now being revealed to all the nations via his writings. Paul further goes on to reveal what this sacred secret is in the epistle to the Ephesians chapter 3:1-12. How that by revelation He made known unto me the mystery…Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of man and is now revealed unto His holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit; That the Gentiles should be fellow heirs and of the same body, and partakers of His promise in Christ by the gospel: Unto me is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ; And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things.” Three times between Romans and Ephesians we are told that this sacred secret had been hidden in God since before the world was created. That is how important this mystery is...

Prophecies of the Antichrist -- Part Twelve
No serious study of the Apocalypse can be undertaken without addressing exactly who is going to be involved in these horrendous events. This will be covered in the upcoming articles. The Day of Wrath is one of the main names given to the time of tribulation also called the Day of the Lord. To nail down this concept so as we are in no doubt as to what this term means, we use one of the main means of scripture interpretation, prior usage. That is, we examine where phrases or words are used before in order to establish what the exact meaning is.

Prophecies of the Antichrist -- Part Eleven
Some in Thessalonica were teaching that the day of the Lord had already begun. They did this because of the ferocious persecutions against the Christians at that time by the Romans and the Jewish hierarchy. Paul wrote 2 Thessalonians 2 to allay their fears and assure them that the day of the Lord could not come until there first came a “falling away” or departure, and only then would the man of sin be revealed. Prophecies of the Antichrist -- Part Ten
The interesting tid-bit here is that it says that these evil spirits can “assume many different forms.” I do not fully understand this statement. But on my journey to Egypt some years ago, I was taken by the many images of the various gods displayed in friezes and paintings in all of the temples there. These showed gods in different forms such as Horus, the Falcon headed god. Thoth who has the head of an Ibis while Sobek looked like a man with a crocodile head. The god Khnum had the head of a goat while Anubis was the god-man with the head of a jackal

Prophecies of the Antichrist -- Part Nine
As with many places in scripture, the angels are called here “stars.” The stars fall from heaven and cast themselves down to earth. This proves once more that what we are dealing with are fallen angels who come from this other world called heaven. These are the fallen ones and when they cover the females, they bare what Enoch calls elephants, camels and asses. In other words, they bare monsters who bore little resemblance to the humans. These are the giants of the Old Testament and of the many myths and legends which speak of giants from every corner of the world. Even in my own country of Ireland, giants are mentioned several times in historical records. Balor was the famous one eyed giant ( Cyclops?)who fought at the battle of Moytura. Close to my cottage on the side of a hill in the west of Ireland there is a mound made of stones which is referred to locally as “the grave of the giant.”

But for now we see that it is abundantly clear from the writings of Enoch that evil angels manifested themselves on the earth in those antediluvian days and married human women. Their interference with humankind in those days caused the whole world to become full of sin and violence and bloodshed which brought on the Flood of Noah. Because of their sin, the fallen angels or Nephilim have been incarcerated in the Abyss or Tartarus to await a final day of judgment. But before that day the pit of the Abyss must be opened and these spirits released into the earth once more to wreak havoc during the coming Apocalypse.

Most learned persons suppose that Apollo and the rest of the Olympian gods are mere flights of fancy and dismiss them as myths. But we are not dealing in myths or fables. Our studies are to do with the revealed Word of truth and holy writ. And it testifies that Apollo is an angel who is locked up in Tartarus because of his role in the sin and violence that pertained in the days of Noah that precipitated the Flood in those bygone days. So the legends which talk of gods on the earth in ancient times may not be the myths that we were led to believe they were.

And when he opens the bottomless pit, “there arose a smoke out of the pit, as of a smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened, by reason of the smoke of the pit.” We will see that upon the opening of the bottomless pit, the inhabitants that have been incarcerated there are released into the earth once more. Now here’s a thought. Back in 1478 a volcano blew in Indonesia called Krakatau. The smoke that arose from it was so dense that it blotted out the sun from the earth for several days.
